SkipIt Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SkipIt mobile application operated by TaoApex Limited ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using SkipIt you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the local minimum age for digital consent in your country) to use SkipIt. If you are using SkipIt on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
  • You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes all associated records within 30 days.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:
- Use SkipIt to violate any law or third-party right
- Submit records that contain illegal, defamatory, or hateful content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the SkipIt API
- Bypass the rate limits (10 records / hour, 100 / day per account)
- Resell or white-label the Service without our written permission

4. Subscriptions & Billing

SkipIt offers optional SkipIt Pro subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system, processed by RevenueCat on our behalf.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (Apple ID → Subscriptions).
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • We do not store your Apple ID payment credentials. Refund requests are handled by Apple; we can help route them.
  • Pricing and renewal terms are shown at the point of purchase and in the App Store.
  • Free trial: if offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription during the trial.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in:
`iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SkipIt`.

5. Intellectual Property

  • SkipIt, its logo, design, and code are owned by TaoApex Limited and protected by copyright, trademark, and trade-secret law.
  • You retain all rights to the content you create in SkipIt (your records, notes). You grant us a limited licence to store, sync, and display that content solely to operate the Service.
  • Feedback: if you send us suggestions, we may use them without restriction or compensation.

7. Health & Financial Disclaimer

SkipIt is a self-help tool for personal finance awareness. It is:
- Not a substitute for professional financial advice.
- Not a regulated banking or money-transmission service.
- Not liable for the actual outcome of any purchase decision.

Always consult a qualified financial advisor for material decisions.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Where a paid feature is removed, we will offer a proportionate refund or credit where required by law.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
- Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £100 if greater).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g., death, personal injury, fraud).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaoApex Limited from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer law in your country provides otherwise.
  • The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at <https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr>.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and, where required, by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
