Privacy Policy

TaoBook (轻记) is a personal money-tracking app operated by TaoApex Limited. We process only the data needed to provide login, sync, ledger, budget, purchase, and support features.

1. Data we process

  • Sign-in data: a stable identifier from Sign in with Apple and the email address or name Apple provides, if available.
  • User-created finance data: books, categories, transactions, budgets, and sync state that you enter.
  • Receipt images: a receipt image you choose is recognized on your device; TaoBook does not upload the image to our server for recognition.
  • Voice input: voice is sent through the system speech-recognition flow to create text; TaoBook does not store the raw voice file.
  • Purchase and device context: Apple and StoreKit may process purchase, restore, and transaction information. Basic technical information may be processed to keep the app working and answer support requests.

2. How we use data

We use the above data to authenticate you, sync your books when you choose to sign in, display your ledger and insights, manage budgets, restore purchase entitlements, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. TaoBook does not sell personal data and does not use receipt images or raw voice recordings to build advertising profiles.

3. Storage and security

Cloud sync traffic uses HTTPS. Data stored for an account is associated with that account so it can be synchronized and deleted. No online service is perfectly secure, but we use provider-managed access controls and scoped credentials for the services that support TaoBook.

4. Your choices and deletion

You can use local/demo flows without signing in. You can sign out and, where an account is configured, delete your account and associated cloud data from Settings. You may also email support@taoapex.com" class="text-blue-600 dark:text-blue-400 hover:underline" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">support@taoapex.com for a verifiable deletion request. We process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

Deleting an account does not reverse an Apple purchase; refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

5. Third-party services

Sign in with Apple, Apple StoreKit/App Store, and the configured TaoBook API process data under their own terms. The API is hosted as an independent Cloudflare Worker and D1 service. We do not receive your Apple payment credentials.

6. Not financial advice

TaoBook is a personal recording and budgeting tool. It is not a bank, tax service, investment adviser, or guarantee of financial outcomes. Do not enter financial information you are not authorized to process.
