Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of DepositPacket CA, an iPhone app operated by TaoApex Limited. By installing or using the app, you agree to use it lawfully and to review your records before relying on or sharing them.

1. What the app does

DepositPacket CA provides a California-focused workflow for organizing property and tenancy details, move-in and repair evidence, deduction items, deadline views, readiness checks, and PDF/ZIP/JSON documentation exports. The app does not send email, track delivery, make legal decisions, or replace a California landlord-tenant professional.

2. No legal advice or guaranteed outcome

The app is a documentation and organization tool. It does not determine whether a deduction, estimate, repair, notice, or delivery method complies with California law. Rules and facts can change, and the product covers only the workflow described in its current documentation. You are responsible for obtaining legal advice when your situation is complex and for deciding how and when to deliver any statement or evidence.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness, and authorization of every property detail, tenant detail, photo, note, receipt, invoice, estimate, and other file you enter or import. Review capture dates, amounts, descriptions, and generated exports against the original source. You must not use the app to violate privacy, access another person's account, upload malware, or submit content you are not authorized to handle.

4. Offline use, account, and sync

You may use the local workflow without signing in. Sign in with Apple is required for the optional cloud sync and cross-device recovery features. You are responsible for securing your Apple account and device. Sync can be delayed or fail; local records and exports remain your responsibility, and you should keep a copy of files that matter to you.

5. Exports and delivery

The app can generate a PDF, original-files ZIP, and JSON manifest. These are generated from the information and files you supplied. You decide whether they are complete, where to store them, and how to print, mail, or otherwise deliver them. The app does not promise that a recipient received a file or that any export will be accepted by a court, agency, tenant, or other person.

6. Availability and changes

DepositPacket CA is an evolving MVP. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, including the configured sync service, for maintenance, security, legal, or product reasons. The app and service are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Account deletion and termination

You can erase local data or delete a signed-in account from Settings. Account deletion requests removal of the associated cloud records and files; local offline copies must be erased separately. We may suspend access when necessary to protect the service, investigate abuse, or comply with law.
